چکیده

In this paper, we propose a novel matchedfilter-type parallel code acquisition scheme to detect uplink short-code wideband CDMA multipath signals. A treestructured parallel adaptive network of RAKE fingers is created for all possible delay shifts and users. Employing a sequential detection scheme, only viable fingers are used to generate the output decision statistics. Monte Carlo computer simulation and numerical calculations have been carried out to study the performance of the algorithm in single-path and multipath channels corrupted with co-channel interference (CCI) and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). Both simulation and numerical calculations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can, at the expense of signal combining loss, significantly reduce the computation complexity and latency of the receiver. Additional signal combining loss is also quantified when the channel estimation error from weighted multislot averaging (WMSA) is taken into account.

Serial acquisition performance of single-carrier and multicarrier DS-CDMA over Nakagami-m fading channels

In this paper, we investigate the issue of pseudo noise (PN) code acquisition in single-carrier and multicarrier (MC) direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems, when the channel is modeled by frequency-selective Nakagamifading. The PN code acquisition performance of single-carrier and MC DS-CDMA systems is analyzed and compared when communicating over Nakagamifading channe...

PN Code Acquisition Using Smart Antenna and Adaptive Thresholding CFAR Based on Ordered Data Variability for CDMA Communications

Recently, a novel approach for PN code acquisition of direct sequence code division multipleaccess (DS-CDMA) systems in Rayleigh fading multipath channel was proposed in [1]. The authors considered a combination of adaptive thresholding constant false alarm rate (CFAR) and smart antennas to increase the system capacity and consequently enhance the detection performance. This paper considers sti...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Serial acquisition of DS-CDMA signals in multipath fading mobile channels

This paper compares the mean acquisition time (MAT) performance of two serial search acquisition schemes over frequency-selective multipath Rayleigh fading channels. Both the conventional cell-by-cell detection and the novel joint two-cell detection are characterized. In contrast to the majority of published results considering only one correct timing state ( 1 cell) in the uncertainty region o...

یک روش جستجوی دو- مرحله‌ای برای همزمانی سریع سیستم‌های باند فوق وسیع در محیط‌های چندمسیره

Ultra-wideband (UWB) radio is a promising technology for low-cost, high-rate communications at short ranges. However, high bandwidth and low power of the UWB signals impose some difficult challenges in signal processing and implementation of the receiver. Acquisition of the signal timing is the first task to be performed in a coherent receiver. The high bandwidth of UWB signals demand for fine ...
